Benefits of Blogging

Money... Money... MONEY

The ultimate benefit of blogging is money. With The Huffington Post pulling in 2.25 million a month off the news blog... you have to think only about money.

You can claim there are benefits like..... popularity, a personal feeling of importance... but when you wake up, it is all about the money.

Doocing.... beware.

Have you ever been dooced?

(If you can't answer the above question then I implore you to check it out at urbandictionary.com. Though you do really need to stay hip-to-the-lingo)

You may not be sure, well there are people in the US who have been dooced, and if you have a personal blog you may be in danger of being dooced yourself!

Do you think you are untouchable? Michael Hansom probably thought he was untouchable as well..... wait you don't know who Michael Hansom is.... nobody does because he was dooced!!! Michael Hansom work for Microsoft as a temp, well he did, until he posted a picture on his blog of Microsoft receiving a shipment of Apple G5's with the caption "Even Microsoft wants G5s".... bad idea, he probably was in line to be the next CEO or at least CEO's handsome escort security guard.

So be warned, doocing happens and it could happen to you.

My Blogging Experience

Over the course of my life I have repeatedly created and crushed my own dreams relating to being a "blogger." I have never doubted that their are people who have the time to read my blog, frankly the American public has plenty of spare time, the issue is I just don't have time to write a blog. It is hard work. Roughly once a year I start another expedition into the blogsphere, I begin another blog that stemmed from another idea that I had while eating cereal and wondering the best possible way to cook maple syrup inside my pancakes without it all escaping.... i hate it when that happens. For two weeks I go hard, I dedicate myself to blog, I go Charlie Sheen pre-rehab, but alas, when the third week hits, I just don't care.

That is why i don't blog.

Corporate Blog Review - Engadget

I find Engadget.com to be a very interesting and informative technology magazine. The website was started as a blog and personally in my opinion remains just that. According to their About Me page

"Engadget is a web magazine with obsessive daily coverage of everything new in gadgets and consumer electronics.
Engadget was launched in March of 2004 in partnership with the Weblogs, Inc. Network"

Engadget provides breaking news, reviews, and information relating to all areas of personal technology. If you are shopping for a cell phone or buying a new tv, Engadget.com is a great website to stop by and see what is what in the technology world.
